Headshot of Evan Musial

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) specializing in databases and platform engineering, I design, secure, and optimize high-performance data infrastructures in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS). My work ensures data integrity, confidentiality, and availability for large-scale systems.

I'm currently pursuing an M.S. in Cybersecurity with a 4.0 GPA and plan to continue toward a D.Sc. in Cybersecurity or Ph.D. in Cyberpsychology. The intersection of security and psychology fascinates me—particularly how they shape user behavior and strengthen cybersecurity measures online. This passion drives my work.

In my daily role, I protect organizational assets through performance optimization, automation, and incident response, ensuring mission-critical applications run securely and reliably. I thrive on learning new security, cloud, science, and IT topics. I'm also passionate about writing code in Bash and Python to automate tasks across my personal, academic, and professional life. In short, it’s my job to keep data “on time”, and I love the work that I do, and I’m fortunate to work with an amazing group of people at my employer.

I'm a proud member and supporter of ISC2 (Chicago Chapter), ISACA (Central Indiana Chapter), CSA (San Francisco Chapter), NANOG, and ARIN.

Having lived and worked throughout the United States 🇺🇸, after a decade in the San Francisco Bay Area, I now call Indianapolis, Indiana home.
